Unlike wall-mounted or hardwired alarms, the CO710 is designed to sit on a tabletop, dresser, shelf, or other stable flat surface. No wiring, outlet, or permanent installation is required, making it easy to place in bedrooms, hallways, living spaces, apartments, vacation properties, and other indoor areas.

A single test and silence button allows users to check alarm operation and silence certain alerts when appropriate. The alarm also includes an end-of-life warning that lets you know when the detector has reached the end of its service life and should be replaced.
