The First Alert CO400 Carbon Monoxide Detector 2-Pack, model 1043610, provides reliable protection against carbon monoxide, an invisible and odorless gas that can be produced by furnaces, water heaters, fireplaces, generators, stoves, and other fuel-burning equipment.

Each detector uses an advanced electrochemical carbon monoxide sensor to monitor the surrounding area for elevated CO levels. When dangerous carbon monoxide levels are detected, the alarm produces a powerful 85-decibel warning sound to alert occupants.

Because the alarms operate on replaceable 9V batteries, they do not require hardwiring or access to an electrical outlet. Battery operation also allows the detectors to continue monitoring during a power outage and makes them easy to install in bedrooms, hallways, basements, and other appropriate areas of the home.
