Southwire Model 28828201 is a 1000-foot roll of 12/2 AWG NM-B (Non-Metallic Sheathed) electrical cable engineered for indoor branch circuit wiring in residential and light commercial structures. This cable features solid annealed copper conductors with a factory-bonded NM jacket and a SIMpull® smooth exterior designed to significantly reduce friction during installation, making pulls through studs and joists easier and faster for electricians.
NM-B cable is the standard choice for interior power distribution wiring where installed within walls, ceilings, attics, and other protected locations. The 12/2 configuration provides a hot (black), neutral (white), and bare copper grounding conductor, allowing easy wiring of lighting circuits, receptacles, and general-purpose outlets rated up to 20 amps.
Rated for 600 volts with a 90 °C conductor temperature rating (NEC ampacity limited to 60 °C for terminations unless otherwise permitted), this cable complies with NEC requirements for residential and commercial interior wiring. It is not suitable for outdoor, wet, or exposed installations without conduit.
The SIMpull® technology on the jacket enhances installer efficiency while maintaining full code compliance and durability for everyday electrical circuits.
